Summary

Another attempt by a French manufacturer to enter the executive segment - the C4 is handsomely styled and impressively well-finished. A great motorway cruiser.

Styling

The C6 will certainly get you noticed, although its not suited for anyone wanting to maintain a low profile. Generally handsome styling helps it to stand out from the crowd.

Handling

Steers and corners with a tidy competence for one so large, although lifeless steering robs the driving experience of any significant involvement.

Comfort

Hydraulic suspension allows the C6 to shrug off most bumps, although rougher British roads produce an uncomfortable heaving motion. Seats are supremely comfortable.

Quality

Well assembled and tough-feeling, but the plastics in the cabin cant match premium German rivals for perceived quality, and some of the switchgear feels cheap for a car in this segment.

Performance

Both petrol and diesel motors give plenty of urge - although only the smooth-revving petrol V6 gets a nice soundtrack.

Roominess

The big, airy cabin offers plenty of space for both front and rear seat occupants, and theres a decently proportioned boot, too.

Costs

Serious pricetags and untested depreciation mean the C6 is an investment than only the brave should consider. Other running costs should be reasonable, with the diesel engine returning decent fuel economy.

Value

The C6 is priced to compete with some very serious premium German rivals, and although it offers more standard equipment, its appeal will be limited to those who are determined to be different.

Stereo

The stereo sounds great but the Satnav system is shared with lesser cars in the Peugeot-Citroen range and lacks functions compared to some premium rivals.
